National Sepsis Plan for Belgium: letter to minister Vandenbroucke

This week, an open letter from medical experts and supported by Sepsibel, was sent to Minister Vandenbroucke. This letter aims to draw attention to sepsis with the goal of early recognition and treatment. Sepsis is still too little known as a medical emergency among healthcare personnel and the general public. If this inflammatory reaction to infection is not detected and treated in time, it may lead to organ failure and death. Moreover, many patients face permanent consequences after sepsis.

Sepsibel, (para)medics and some politicians hope this open letter will encourage the minister to work on this.
